Depart Port of Tauranga for Rotorua (approx. 1.25 hour drive); we travel along the pristine waterfront of Mount Maunganui ocean beach, continue through Te Puke, the home of the New Zealand Kiwifruit, which happens to be the region’s largest GDP industry. Our route continues through farmland, and then pine forested areas, passing Lake Rotoiti and Lake Rotorua, which are just 2 of the 16 lakes in the region, before arriving into Rotorua city.
