A secret, secluded village awaits you at the top of Castaways cliff tops. Nestled comfortably between rolling hills, overlooking Karioitahi Beach on the West coast you will find the Castaways Glam Camping Village.
With extreme comfort, humble magnificence and breath-taking features, this Glam Camping village offers a unique Glam Camping experience, with a rustic outdoor Kiwi setting, complete with fire pit, native materials and comfortable lounging. Accompanied by superb hotel standard facilities for your comfort. All Glam camp rooms have private en suite for your convenience.This is camping with a BIG difference – we take care of everything for you.
This is an All-Inclusive relaxing summer Glam Camping package in paradise.
Departing from Tauranga, we will make our way north via the Southwestern motorway to Pukekohe & Waiuku, before heading to Castaways Village for our Glam Camping experience.
After you have settled in, you will be treated to a lovely lunch. The rest of the afternoon is for you to rest and enjoy the peace & tranquillity.
Turn your cell phones off because they won’t work here. However, you will be surprised at all the mod cons that are present in the Glam Camping site.
Facilities include an onsite host and chef to accommodate your event. An outside bar sheltered stone fire pit which ignites at the click of a button. Tantalising wood fire pizza oven, expansive outdoor kitchen with spit roast and more. A social and extensive lounging area with plasma television, complete with a large dining area that sneaks hidden views towards the crashing waves and setting sun, and many other hidden gems across the village.
As the sun goes down over the ocean – share & enjoy pre dinner drinks with tasty morsels – followed by a Glam Dinner together.

This morning you wake up to birds chirping, sounds of the ocean and lovely sea air. There is nothing nicer than waking up by the ocean on a warm summer’s day. This is a leisurely start to your day
After your Glam Breakfast, we will take a drive to visit the famous Awhitu Lighthouse and Manukau Heads. Enjoy its vast panoramas and sweeping coastlines.
We will then whisk you off to Awhitu Winery with its remnants of the once thick Pūriri and Kauri forest. Experience the superior flavours of their elegant, hand-crafted wines – Harbour Rose, Greenock Syrah, and Peninsula Chardonnay.
Lunch will follow in Waiuku township at the Kentish Hotel – NZ’s oldest licensed pub, dining Portside overlooking the Estuary.
After lunch we will take time to explore the Heritage Buildings of Tamakae Reserve, and rediscover a little bit of the local history.
If time permits, we will visit Leafy Hollow Lavender Garden, Nursery, and Distillery. You will experience 2 acres of established gardens. Meandering pathways will lead you through aromatic herbs, fragrant lavender, and rosemary beds as well as numerous water features.
For those of you who love art, you will also find an artist’s studio, gallery, and gift shop before we make our return to Tauranga with full bellies and reinvigorated souls.
